Ruhi Book 3 Children’s Classes – First Branch Course
Edition 1.1.1.PE June 2024

These nine lessons are the first in a series for kids who have completed the first year of children’s classes in Ruhi Book 3, Grade 1. Nine lessons are arranged in three sets. Each set has a theme, and three lessons address key concepts in that theme. Kids are encouraged to develop their skills in creative drama and visual arts. Brilliant Star content below can supplement the materials in the published lessons. The themes listed are one approach provided for reference.

First Set: Prayer


> Lesson 1.1: Prayer is conversation with God

Prayer is conversation with God. As we pray each day, our love for God grows stronger and our souls become more joyful.

Themes: Turning to God in prayer; qualities of enkindlement thankfulness, detachment

> Lesson 1.2: Prayer is spiritual food

Prayer is food for the soul. It brings our souls life and strength.

> Lesson 2.1: The fortress of God’s love

We are constantly protected and nurtured by God’s love. It is lke a mighty building that nothing can break through.

> Lesson 2.2: Following God’s Laws

We obey God’s laws out of love and offer service to humanity. We show our faith by following God’s commandments.

> Lesson 2.3: Laws and teachings are a lamp

God’s laws are like a lamp that illumines our path. We’re told not to look at our weaknesses but rely on God’s assistance.

> Lesson 3.1: Seek the knowledge of God

Out of love, we seek to know more about God through His Manifestations. We also see God in all of creation.

O my God! O my God! Thou seest these children who are the twigs of the tree of life, the birds of the meads of salvation, the pearls of the ocean of Thy grace, the roses of the garden of Thy guidance.

We sing Thy praise, bear witness to Thy sanctity and implore fervently the heaven of Thy mercy to make us lights of guidance, stars shining above the horizons of eternal glory amongst mankind, and to teach us a knowledge which proceedeth from Thee. > Lesson 3.2: Knowledge is essential for human progress

We need to seek knowledge of the sciences and the arts as well as spiritual subjects in order to build a better world.

We learn about the world by searching for truth. Light is good from whatever lamp it shines. We must keep our minds open at all times.
