Trailblazer: Lexie E.

I've been playing the violin for six years. I love it.

Hi, my name is Lexie and I love art. I live in Charm City (Baltimore, Maryland) with my mom, dad, little sister, and big brother. My house is near a man-made pond that we just call The Lakes. In the springtime, also known as allergy season, there are geese and ducks and koi. I enjoy taking walks with my family to see nature in my neighborhood. I like to see my fellow neighbors appreciating the outdoors as much as my family does.

I love helping people, and I love to see the product of my donations.

I have always loved art since as long as I can remember. I love all types of art, including paint, oil pastel, pencil, paper, voice, and violin. I love drawing abstract art and people and dresses. I've been playing the violin for six years. I love it so far. I also love singing. I've had a passion for it for a long time but only joined my school chorus group in 2020.

Another thing I enjoy is photography. I take after my grandma, who first introduced me to a professional camera. After taking one picture, I begged my dad to get me one too. After one year, I was given a Canon camera for my ninth birthday with all the extra add-ons too.

Mentioning birthdays, every year for our birthdays, my mom sets up a service project. The exact project is chosen by the birthday person. For my birthday in 2020, we made knotted fleece blankets to donate to the House of Ruth, which is a shelter for women and children who have been abused. I love helping people and I love to see the product of my donations after. It lifts a weight off of my shoulders to know that I have done what I can to help people in need.
