Hi! I’m Anisa. I’m 13 years old and live in a small town in Arizona with my mom, dad, and older brother Kian, where we are homefront pioneering. Homefront pioneering means that you are living in a place that does not have many Bahá’ís and are doing Bahá’í activities with people you meet there.

I'm on a swim team. So is my brother, Kian.

We live in a small, close-knit neighborhood right next to the IHS (Indian Health Service) hospital. We know a lot of our neighbors, which is really nice. We live in the mountains, so there are pine trees, and it snows in the winter. Me and my brother are homeschooled, which I think is fun. I get to do research a lot, which I like, and I do a lot of reading, too.

I enjoy playing with our family dog, Hope, a tiny fur ball who is obsessed with balls; being outside with our friends; swimming (me and my brother are on a swim team); writing; reading mystery books (I’m currently reading a relatively old series called The Bobbsey Twins); playing ukulele; singing; and babysitting with a friend. I also do art projects and like to make things. I like being outside in nature and hiking or biking, especially by streams or rivers. I also like photography.

I enjoy reading mystery books, such as the Bobbsey Twins series.

I LOVE Brilliant Star. I really like reading Lightning and Luna comics and love getting the magazines in the mail!! I think it would be fun if there were a chat on the website where you could chat with other kids and “chat” with Lightning and Luna.

Something I’m looking forward to is going on pilgrimage in a few months. It will be an amazing experience, and I’m really excited to meet other Bahá’í kids! It won’t be my first time out of the country, as I went to the Bahá’í temple in Chile when I was five and to Guatemala when I was ten for my cousin’s wedding. I love traveling and experiencing being in other cultures.

I enjoy playing ukulele and singing.

Some of my goals are to be a nurse and EMT [emergency medical technician] when I’m young, have a family, and teach the Faith.
