Trailblazer: Adayna F.
Hi there! My name is Adayna, and I am 15 years old. I live in Western Australia, with my mum, dad, older brother, and Chester, our doggy. We got him in September 2021, and he’s a very cute cavoodle.

I love baking for special events. This is a passion fruit tart I made.
I enjoy creating things and exploring. My family and I do bush walks, and recently, we’ve been getting into a trail running group, too. I have been playing the piano for six years, and I started cello at school last year. Another thing I enjoy doing is rock-climbing and bouldering. I also love getting hands-on in the kitchen to cook for my friends and family, along with baking for special events. I have experimented in making some treats and accessories for Chester, including bandanas and bow ties (he’s a great model!).
My family and I love travelling. Most recently (in April 2019) we went to Italy and the Holy Land. We went to Rome, then flew to Israel. We went on pilgrimage and saw the holy sites. And I got to have the most amazing ninth birthday there, which meant I was allowed into the Archives! I had a great time and we learnt so much. On the way back home, we went to Italy again. We got to take in the sights and smells of Florence, where we went to a pizza and gelato making class, and the Amalfi Coast. We did many adventure walks there, too.

In April 2019, we went on pilgrimage to Israel and saw the holy sites. In this picture, my brother and I are running up the steps to the Shrine of the Báb.
I like to use the Brilliant Star magazine as inspiration for holy day celebration activities and presentations. Sometimes I make posters or organise games for my community on holy days, and Brilliant Star has helped me come up with new and entertaining ideas. I like to help my mum with her Bahá’í children’s class preparation as well. I like to help her think of ideas that the kids will like and create puzzles for them to do. This is an act of service that I enjoy, as I get to create things. As I go to a Catholic school, most of my friends are Christian, but I have taught them some things about the Faith that I thought they would find interesting. Brilliant Star has also guided me on how to answer the questions they have in a meaningful way.
I think Brilliant Star magazine is great, as it shows kids what other Bahá’ís are doing around the world for different events. If I could choose a topic, I would choose holy days to teach people about the different celebrations that we have. There could be a few pages, with different activities and stories, to explore more about each holy day.
