Trailblazer: Nia B.
My name is Nia. I am an extrovert who loves to try new things. I grew up in Belize, which is south of Mexico. My hobbies include volleyball, running, playing the piano and ukulele, song/poem-writing, chess, and photography. I have been playing volleyball for several years and have recently started doing track and cross country. My main event is long distance—either 2 or 3 miles. I also enjoy theater. I did the winter musical recently and hope to do theater in college.
I enjoy volunteering for different organizations. My youth group back home created a literature project that aims to make reading fun and help Belizean children receive access to fun books. We have done many events and have distributed over 10,000 books! Hopefully, we can continue the project for many more years and possibly start another major project.
I have a miniature Schnauzer named Milo, who is seven; I love animals. I am also very passionate about the environment. I have been vegan for over a year and I am working on a YouTube channel that can help people live a more sustainable life. My dream would be to create a nonprofit organization and do environmental activism. Overall, I love contributing to society and making the world a better place.
