Bahá’ís Believe: Establish World Peace
Humanity is one family and our planet is one home.
When viewed from outer space, there are no lines dividing countries and people on Earth. Humanity is one family, living together on one amazing blue planet that we share as our home. Technology lets us instantly communicate with people around the globe. We can travel to learn about diverse ways of life. Some countries work together to help those in need and solve global problems. We cooperate in fields such as science, sports, business, and the arts.
The Bahá’í teachings offer a hopeful vision of Earth’s future: “World peace is not only possible but inevitable. It is the next stage in the evolution of this planet…” Violence and oppression are outdated. World leaders must unite and agree to end war.
Humanity can live in unity, and each of us can help build peace by practicing virtues such as kindness and compassion. When we put aside prejudice, greed, and cruelty, and treat all people with respect, we will succeed. Bahá’u’lláh said, “These fruitless strifes, these ruinous wars shall pass away, and the ‘Most Great Peace’ shall come.”
